Job Purpose

The HR Manager is responsible for leading and managing human resources initiatives across multiple business units within the organization. This role ensures alignment of HR practices with the company’s strategic objectives, while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture. The HR Manager will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. HR Strategy and Planning
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s overall goals.
  • Design HR initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic input on workforce planning and organizational structure.
  1. Talent Acquisition and Retention
  • Oversee recruitment processes to ensure a diverse and talented workforce.
  • Work with business leaders to forecast staffing needs and implement effective talent pipelines.
  • Develop strategies to retain top talent, including employee development and career pathing.
  1. Performance Management
  • Lead the implementation of performance appraisal systems and processes.
  • Set goals for talent development and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Support leaders in driving a high-performance culture.
  1. Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Develop and promote a positive workplace culture across all business units.
  • Manage employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and lead conflict resolution efforts.
  1. Compensation and Benefits
  • Ensure payroll is run on time with accuracy to reduce processing time during month end closing.
  • Oversee the development and management of compensation structures to ensure competitiveness.
  • Evaluate and update benefits packages, staying in line with industry standards.
  • Implement recognition programs to foster employee motivation.
  1. 6. Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Implement policies to minimize legal and compliance risks within HR practices.
  • Oversee health, safety, and wellness programs to support employee well-being.
  1. 7. HR Operations and Data Management
  • Manage HR systems and processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Utilize HR data and analytics to make data-driven decisions and reports.
  • Prepare and present HR reports to senior management.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • Experience: 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role within a multi-site or group organization.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in HRIS systems.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of employment laws in South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius & UAE, HR compliance requirements, and strategic HR planning.
